The Friends wished to underline the beauty of the museum, creating a garden that could host openings, cultural events and artistic installations. Designed by the landscape architect Augusto Calonder, the new garden was inaugurated on September 2, 2017, during the museum’s 120th anniversary celebrations.
The financing of the garden was assumed by the Friends and the generosity of its members: thank you! Important financial contributions were also made by the following patrons: La Loterie Romande, the Sandoz Family Foundation, the Ersnt Göhner Stiftung, the Sohpie and Karl Binding Foundation, the Foundation for Tourist Infrastructure of the Riviera and the city of Vevey.
